Welcome to our farm in Augusta Maine. Established in 1985 and located on the shores of Togus Pond. We raise: Ye Olde English "Babydoll" Southdown sheep, Angora Goats and Angora Rabbits. We also raise and show Keeshonden dogs. Our Fiber room is always overflowing with unique and one of a kind blends of wool, mohair and angora. Our hand-made products are original and one-of-a-kind creations. They are all created from the fibers of the creatures who bring me so much joy. ~Betty Stover
German Angoras are wonderful fiber producers and very gentle. My Germans produce from 8 to 15 oz of fiber every 3 months. I've been introducting new rabbits from Germany into my line (thank you Lesley). I've heard their fiber is at least 6 times warmer than wool and in Germany Doctors write prescriptions for Angora fiber garments for their patients! Does anyone know if there are any statistics that prove Angora is 6 - 8 times warmer than wool?

Charlie, German Angora Rabbit, 8+ oz of prime fiber. Believe it or not, in my opinion German Angora is softer than English or French, it also has a nice crimp and they usually produce 3 times as much fiber. So if you are looking for a rabbit to spin - what should you choose? I learned to spin using raw rabbit fiber. I would recommend Angora roving. Now are you up to a challenge? Clipping and spinning these wonderful fiber animals?
8/16/10 We have 6 new Jersey Wooly kits. They are about 2 inches log. Their dad is Cosmos and he is so handsome - white with black spots.

My granddaughter, Charlotte, with a Jersey Wooly. They are so sweet - both of them!
German Angora's produce about 10+ oz every 3 months. Angora is usually spun fine because it is so warm. So 10 oz is about half a sweater.
